Hair Cream, What Is It And What Does It Do?

Hair Cream, What Is It And What Does It Do?

Our hair cream is a bit of a maverick in the product world. It simultaneously continues to be both our best selling and most mysterious item. It seems that whilst many love it, others don’t know what it is or how to use it.

Because hair cream is a relative newcomer in the barbershop environment when clients see the unorthodox metal tube, we’re often asked “what is this stuff?”. Once we’ve put some in their hair they often realise that it’s the missing piece of the follicular puzzle that they never knew they needed.

If you are one of those who’s yet to discover hair cream then we’re here to clear everything up for you. We’ll explain exactly what it is and how it’ll slot seamlessly into your grooming arsenal, quickly becoming an essential part of your styling routine.

What Is It?

Our hair cream is a multi-purpose styling product which cures a variety of hair ailments. A bit of a show-pony of the hair world, if you will.

It can be used to tame unruly hair, de-frizz and moisturise dry and puffy hair and give volume and shine to limp or dull hair.

Think of it as a turbo-charged, nutrient packed smoothie for your barnet.

Why Did We Make It?

Our extensive experience and research led us to the fact that many people, particularly those with mid-longer length hair, use a variety of products to tame their thatch. And it’s easy to see why, there are so many on the shelves these days.

Heat protectors, pre-stylers, leave-in conditioners. Treatments for curls, treatments for damage, treatments to tame. It’s all a bit mind-boggling. We wanted to take the fuss out of it by creating a one-size-fits-all wonder product.

How To Use It

If you are looking to moisturise and tame your tresses then apply to damp hair and style accordingly, either with a hairdryer or by leaving to air dry naturally.

If you are looking to add light hold and shine then apply to dry hair as a finishing product. Or, better yet, do both!

Whether your hair is damp or dry the technique is the same; squeeze a little into your palm, rub your hands together to warm and work through evenly starting from the back and moving forwards. Remember, you can always apply more as needed.

Who’s It For?

If you’re one of the many who struggle to get the balance right between not too greasy and not too dry then this is a great product for you.

If you have longer hair and are struggling to find something to control it with a natural finish then, again, this is a great product for you.

If you like to wear something in your hair but feel that a lot of products feel too heavy or thick then - guess what - this is a great product for you.

OK, So What Doesn’t It Do?

Good question, and the bit that many of us product pushers don’t like to tell you. However, at Ruffians the last thing we’d want is for you to spend your hard earned cash on something that doesn’t work for you.

If you wear your hair in a heavily textured style, eg. a choppy crop or a gravity defying quiff, then you may require something that gives a stronger hold and a less natural finish. For these styles there are other products that we’d recommend - salt sprays, hair powders and alike. You may find that our hair cream offers a finish that it too soft for such a look.

So there you have it, everything you need to know about our hero product, Ruffians Hair Cream. Don’t just take our word for it though, GQ recently named it as a finalist in the “Best Hair Product” category at their grooming awards and numerous influencers have labelled it a “wonder product”.

Why not join the army of loyal fans and see for yourself what all the fuss is about?
