Behind the Chair is back! We're starting the latest series of interviews with Robyn, manager of the Edinburgh barbershop.

What made you get into barbering, and how did you end up at Ruffians? 

After doing ladies hair I decided I wanted to learn more about barbering. I worked for 8 years in another shop before I made my way to Ruffians as it was my end goal being the best barbershop in the UK I always had it in my sights.

What’s your favourite thing about Ruffians Edinburgh?

My favourite thing has to be my team, the spirit and loyalty we have for one another is like no other!

And what’s your best bit of Edinburgh?

My favourite thing about Edinburgh is the greenery and scenery. I feel so lucky to live in a capital city with so much open space on my doorstep. (And the water!! It’s like no other).

What do you get up to outside of work?

Spending time with my 5-year-old son Matthew & my husband Michael, we’re running out of new parks to check out!

What’s your biggest achievement in hair?

My biggest achievement in my career to date is becoming ruffians Edinburgh store manager, it’s been a wild ride so far and I cannot wait to see what’s to come.

What’s your favourite Ruffians product? 

My ride or die is the hair cream, it must be without a doubt the most versatile product I’ve used in a long time!!!
